“Science & Startups meets Industry” is organised by Science & Startups, the association of startup services of the Berlin universities Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Technische Universität Berlin, and Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, and offers a platform for exchange and initiation of cooperation between innovative academic startups and established companies that want to explore and exploit the potential of these innovations:

• Startup teams get an insight into the needs of the industry, learn about the challenges of the established organisations that need to be solved
• Established companies get an insight into innovative solutions and business models of the startups and see which business opportunities this might open up

Next to the traditional startup pitches that allow you to get to know our teams we offer our guests an opportunity to present themselves and their areas of interest with regard to collaborations with startups in short “reverse pitches”. The pitch sessions are followed by an opportunity for one-on-one exchanges and extensive networking.

Startup Tasting

September 7th, 2022 – We would like to give you a glimpse into our “workshop”. After exciting elevator pitches of our science-based startups from science, you will have the opportunity to get to see the teams at work and give them feedback during prototype testing.  Support the teams with your expertise and give them ideas on how to improve their products!

Science & Startups meets Industry: HealthTech

Novemer 17, 2021 – The online session gave companies and startups the opportunity to present themselves. The focus of our startups varied from digital psychosocial therapy to blood testing devices for cancer patients. One again a big thank you to our industry partners who joined: AOK Plus, Audi BKK, B. Braun, BKK VBU & Signals!

Science & Startups meets Industry: Social Impact

August 11, 2021 – During the Event our startups presented their creativity and entrepreneurial spirit to develop innovative approaches to overcoming social problems and global grand challenges as climate crisis, demographic changes, global migration, increasing inequality of wealth and opportunity, or social division. Our startups had the chance to connect with guests from the industry as e.g. On Purpose, Social Entrepreneurship Netzwerk Deutschland e.V., Main Incubator, ANTHROPIA gGmbH and many more.

Science & Startups meets Industry: EdTech

May 19, 2021 – Learning and teaching will never be the same again! We had the opportunity to get some insights in our EdTech startups working on digital solutions to make learning and teaching more versatile, interactive, and effective – at school, university, at work, and well … anywhere else! As always, established companies and organisations in the area of education, as e.g. Stifterverband, Elsevier, and Deutsche Digitale Bibliothek presented themselves and their areas of interest with regard to collaborations with innovative startups in short reverse pitches.

Science & Startups meets Industry: Smart Infrastructure

March 24, 2021 – New ideas for the construction, transport and energy sectors. The city of the future can come! 8 fantastic teams presented their solutions for the construction, transport and energy sectors. Companies like Berliner Stadtwerke, BSR, Die Autobahn GmbH des Bundes, EDF, Dussman Group and PERI presented possibilities for change in established companies.

Science & Startups meets Industry: Smart Food

October 8, 2020 – What will eating look like in the future? Five food tech startups from Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt Universität zu Berlin, and Technische Universität Berlin presented  their innovative concepts for the food industry: from sustainable milk alternatives to the solution for easy automation of quality control in food production to new communication and distribution concepts. Thanks to our guests who value transparency and sustainability and are open to innovation – Veganz Group, BIO COMPANY, Katjesgreenfood and KitchenTown Berlin!
